Critters! Posted by dljc on Apr 23 2010 in Native CrittersThis bobcat came by one night, and the dog chased it up on the roof of the pickup. It was more afraid of the dog than me taking pictures of it.Not sure what kind it is, but it's one of the many lizards, geckos, iguanas (desert iguanas) we have here in Amargosa Valley. (this photo submitted by Jo Ann Sly)These sun spiders usually leave you alone if you'll leave them alone. They can get pretty big, and they look like a scorpion sometimes at first glance.Although this gopher snake, looks like a rattlesnake, it's not. It's non-poisonous and is a good snake to have around. They will help keep the mouse population down. I usually catch them and put them under the house. This one is a regular around here. Send feedback »
